PP Polypropylene Overview

Polypropylene (PP) is one of the most widely used thermoplastics, valued for its low density, excellent chemical resistance, and versatility. PP grades span homopolymer (rigid, high strength), copolymer (impact resistant), and random copolymer (transparent). PP powder is used as feedstock for compounding and modification — it cannot be directly injection molded.

Physical Characteristics: Milky white translucent pellets with a waxy, slippery feel. Density is lower than water (floats on water surface). PP powder is a white powder used for chemical modification compounding—not suitable for direct injection molding.

What is the difference between PP homopolymer and copolymer?

PP homopolymer is rigid and strong with high heat resistance — ideal for microwave containers and structural parts. PP copolymer contains ethylene, making it more impact resistant at low temperatures — used for automotive bumpers and pallets. Choose copolymer when toughness matters.

Can PP powder be used directly in injection molding?

No. PP powder (粉料) is a raw feedstock for compounding and modification. It must be melt-compounded with additives (stabilizers, fillers, pigments) and pelletized before it can be injection molded. Our PP pellets are ready to use directly.
