EPS Expandable Polystyrene (EPS)
High-quality expandable polystyrene beads from Xingda — fast cycle, light, and flame-retardant grades for packaging, construction, and food service applications.
EPS Expandable Polystyrene
EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) is a lightweight, rigid cellular plastic material derived from styrene monomer. It appears as small white pre-expanded beads — tiny spheres that are extremely light in weight. Unlike traditional injection molding pellets, EPS beads are expanded using steam to form the final product.
Physical Characteristics: White, fine pre-expanded beads (extremely lightweight, spherical), not conventional injection molding pellets; requires steam foaming for molding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between EPS and expanded polystyrene foam?
EPS (Expandable Polystyrene) is the raw bead material containing a blowing agent (pentane). When heated with steam, the beads expand to form the final foam product. The raw beads are dense and efficient to ship — expansion happens at the molding facility.
Is EPS recyclable?
Yes, EPS is 100% recyclable. It can be mechanically compacted and reprocessed into new EPS products, or thermally converted into general-purpose polystyrene (GPPS). EPS has never contained CFCs or HCFCs.
What packaging is used for shipment?
Raw EPS beads are packed in 25 kg bags or 800–1000 kg bulk bags (FIBC). Because unexpanded beads are dense, shipping is cost-efficient — expansion happens at your facility.
